Make Savings for a Bright Tomorrow

This summer seemed to pass us by in the blink of an eye. It feels like just yesterday was the end of school, and here we are in August, ready for the kids to return to their studies!

I always aim to make the final week of summer memorable. This often means enjoying extra visits to the pool and hosting fun little “parties” at home with some of our favorite treats that we don’t indulge in as frequently as the kids would prefer.

While shopping at Wal-Mart, I asked the kids what they desired for a special treat. They both excitedly suggested cinnamon rolls for their back-to-school breakfast.

I was more than willing to take on that challenge. I had been curious about the “waffle” cinnamon rolls I had seen on social media, and the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls seemed ideal for the task! We made sure to carefully remove the outer packaging to collect the Boxtops for Education label.

The kids also wanted to try some Nacho Cheese taco shells for our Mexican dinner that week. Since we were on a treat shopping spree, I agreed, especially given that the purchase provided 5 Box Tops for the school!

Their ultimate favorite “treat” requested for dinner is Party Pizza. Although I usually make homemade pizza, I occasionally give in to their wishes, and this was one of those instances… plus, it came with Box Tops too.

That seemed like quite enough “treat” food for our special week. I could notice the kids’ excitement as they giggled and bounced their way to the checkout. I felt pleased to bring them joy while also supporting their school.

Not familiar with Box Tops for Education… or perhaps you’ve heard of it but aren’t fully aware of its significance?

By clipping Box Tops for Education and sending them to your child’s school, they can collect 10 cents for each Box Top! There are no limitations on how the funds are utilized, allowing the school to allocate it as needed.

Our little outing brought in $0.80 for the school to spend on their necessities! Box Tops is one of the most significant school fundraising programs in the country, with over 80,000 K-8 schools participating. Thankfully, our school is one among them, and we are lucky that many parents regularly contribute Box Tops throughout the year. Some classrooms even host friendly competitions to see who can collect the most. This allows our PTA to finance at least one, often two, field trips for each classroom! Our children’s education benefits tremendously from simply sending in labels from products we already use at home. It’s a definite win-win!

Do you contribute Box Tops to your local school? What is your favorite product that participates in the program?
