Verizon Destination Store Chicago

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Chicago for an unforgettable experience at the newly opened Verizon Destination Store.
Trust me when I say this is not your typical Verizon store visit. It’s truly a hands-on technology playground!
Here are the top 10 reasons why the Verizon Destination Store is a perfect spot for a fun date night (or a tech enthusiast’s paradise):
1) Expansive Offerings in a Two-Story Experience!
The Chicago Destination Store spans 10,000 square feet over two levels, filled with a diverse range of electronics and over 100 interactive devices to explore!
That’s right—100 live devices! You’ll definitely discover plenty of technology before leaving.
2) Customize Your Own Music!
This includes various speakers and headphones. Check out the vibrant series of Bluetooth speakers on display!
You’re invited to compare sound from different headphones or even mix your music and send it to yourself!
Isn’t that awesome?
3) Design Your Own Custom Case!
Looking for a distinctive personal gift?
You can create a custom phone case using pictures from your social media or your camera. It’s utterly unique!
If the photo you want isn’t available, don’t worry! There’s a spacious photo booth with a green screen to capture your latest moments!
After you place your case order, it travels upstairs through a pneumatic tube. Your custom case takes just 45 minutes to make while you explore the rest of the store.
Prefer a pre-made case? There’s an excellent selection for every phone model!
4) Charge Up…
Need to recharge your phone or tablet? No power outlet around? No problem!
There’s a recharging station as well as a wide range of cords available.
Relax and kick back, or a friendly Verizon employee can assist by securing your device while you shop.
Looking to pick up a new charging cord or adapter? At the Power Up station, you can select from various colors to showcase your personal style.
5) Explore an Extensive Range of Smartphones and Tablets!
With two long aisles dedicated to smartphones and tablets, you can thoroughly engage with the devices. Notice the “Touch to Explore” sign above the tablets? Touch it to select features that matter to you or compare different models to find your ideal choice.
6) Play With High-Tech Gadgets!
Head to the second floor and “Have Fun”! Experience the thrill of flying a Parrot Drone or check out a variety of other tech gadgets perfect for enthusiasts.
I couldn’t resist trying out the equipment and ended up purchasing a GoPro 4.
7) Transform Your Home into a Smart Home!
Did you know you can manage your thermostat, door locks, and even your garage door through your smartphone? Yes, you can elevate your home’s intelligence!
8) Create a Stop-Motion Animation Video!
This experience is truly exciting! I can only imagine how much fun I would have creating these videos with my partner on date night. Giggling like kids, that sounds perfect!
9) Smart Fitness Solutions!
Try out fitness trackers on a self-propelled treadmill or stationary bike, test your jump reach, or kick a smart soccer ball that gives you feedback on your kick (yes, there’s someone to assist you in this area).

This experience is designed to be customer-directed, with no pressure from sales staff. When you’re ready for assistance, a team member in a red shirt is always nearby to help.
Once you’ve selected your device, what’s next? An educational area offers at least two classes a day on topics like navigating your Android phone or iOS 8. You’ll become a tech expert in no time!
I spent hours exploring and still felt there was more to discover. I’m convinced I could make multiple visits and still have a delightful experience.

It has been ages since I last visited a Verizon Wireless store to explore its offerings. My husband is up for an upgrade, and I’ll be eligible in June, so we need to plan a fun trip soon!
