With the school year in full swing, my eldest son and his girlfriend are feeling a bit overwhelmed. Hence, I chose to treat them to an Applebee’s visit for a calming “Best Date Ever” evening.

Rather than briefly summarizing their meal, my son surprised me with a thoughtful review in his own words!

The service was fantastic! We were greeted warmly by the host, and our server, Alex, was lively and made us feel at ease. Aly and I perused the appetizer options and quickly settled on the spinach artichoke dip.

The dip came out piping hot and tasted as scrumptious as it appeared.

Aly opted for the new maple bacon chicken piadini, while I chose the Butcher’s Reserve 12 oz. sirloin steak, cooked medium rare, complemented by garlic green beans and classic fries. Though our food took some time to arrive, the incredible flavors made the wait worthwhile.

The fries were delightfully crispy, and the steak was cooked to perfection, exactly how I like it. Aly found her dish equally satisfying and filling.

When Alex inquired about dessert, we initially hesitated until I spotted the churro s’mores. They were so delectable that we finished the plate despite being quite full. To top off the wonderful experience, the host kindly held the door open for us as we left, inviting us to return. Overall, it was an exceptional outing!

At the end of our conversation that evening, my son expressed his gratitude again, saying it was the best night they’d had in a long while. Applebee’s indeed delivered a “Best Date Ever” experience.
