Delicious Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies | Nestle DelightFulls Recipe

A special thank you to Nestle Toll House for sponsoring this post.

Throughout the festive duration from Thanksgiving to Christmas, my kitchen typically bursts with delightful aromas wafting from the oven.

One of our family’s favorite holiday treats to bake is the classic Nestle Tollhouse bars. I often make an entire batch specifically for my father, who loves to store them in the freezer for later enjoyment.

When I learned about Nestle’s delightful new chocolate chip range, known as DelightFulls, I was more than just curious—I was incredibly excited!

Exciting New Product

DelightFulls Filled Baking Morsels offer a novel baking experience! Our cutting-edge technology brings you the beloved Nestle Toll House Chocolate, now enhanced with four exquisite flavors. Slightly larger than standard morsels, these treats allow for creative twists on conventional recipes like cookies or brownies, while also presenting opportunities to explore new culinary creations! DelightFulls retain their shape during baking and can be used whole, halved, or chopped for an exciting surprise of flavor and color in your baked goods (or simply enjoyed straight from the bag!).

DelightFulls

How amazing do they sound? I couldn’t help but get inspired!

With a slew of recipe ideas swirling in my mind for incorporating the Nestle DelightFulls, I decided to purchase bags of mint, caramel, and peanut butter flavors. After all, if I didn’t end up baking with them, they’d make a charming bowlful for holiday gatherings!

Peanut Butter Filled

Naturally, I was eager to try the peanut butter filled morsels first. What complements peanut butter perfectly? Chocolate!

I opted to use my trusted chocolate cookie base recipe for this:

1 cup Crisco Sticks (or cubed unsalted butter)
1¼ cups sugar
2 large eggs
½ cup cocoa powder (dark or regular)
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
¼ tsp. sea salt (or regular salt)
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. vanilla
1½ cups Nestle DelightFulls (the peanut butter pairs excellently with caramel, though mint and cherry are also delightful options!)

Baking Ingredients

Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F.

Using a stand mixer or electric mixer, cream together the Crisco (or butter) with sugar for 2-3 minutes. Gradually add the eggs and vanilla, ensuring to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Incorporate the cocoa powder until everything is well combined.

Next, add the flour, salt, and baking powder, mixing at low speed until just incorporated. The dough will be quite thick; you can gently fold in the Nestle DelightFulls with a spatula or use the kneading hook on your mixer.

Once the dough’s mixed, you might also choose to knead it by hand on a clean surface to thoroughly blend the ingredients.

Utilizing a standard cookie scoop, this recipe yields about 36 cookies.

Bake the cookies for around 10 minutes. Due to their dark color, it may be tricky to check for browning. Upon completing, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack or wax paper to cool completely.

Holiday Cookies

And there you have it—our special cookies for Santa! I’ll be stashing a big batch in our freezer to prevent indulging too early before Christmas.

  • 1½ cups Nestle DelightFulls (peanut butter pairs best with caramel, though mint and cherry are tasty options too)
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the Crisco/butter and sugar for about 2-3 minutes. Incorporate the eggs and vanilla, scraping down as necessary. Blend in the cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. Gradually mix in flour, salt, and baking powder at low speed until just combined. Gently fold in the Nestle DelightFulls using a spatula or the kneading hook.
  4. Due to the thick texture of the dough, you may wish to knead it by hand on a clean surface to ensure even mixing.
  5. Using a standard-sized cookie scoop, you should yield about 36 cookies.
  6. Bake for roughly 10 minutes. The dark color may obscure browning, so check for softness in the center. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack or wax paper to cool completely.
