When my eldest children were toddlers, running errands was often a frustrating experience. They’d either become overly fussy or fall asleep in the car, causing me to cut my shopping trips short. I frequently wished for a drive-through option at stores I frequented, especially during those moments when I just needed a few items, but didn’t want to disturb their rest.

Now, with the CVS App, I’ve found my own version of a “drive-through” (more like a drive-up!). I can complete my shopping at home, pull into the Curbside Pickup area, and my errand is significantly quicker. Moreover, it helps me avoid those unplanned impulse buys that can wreak havoc on my budget!

Using the app is pretty straightforward. You can browse through categories and discover items on sale, or simply type what you need into the search bar and add it to your cart. The app automatically calculates sale prices, and your cart is saved for an extended period. I utilized it as a “shopping list,” adding items as they came to mind over several days. When I was ready to pick up my order, I could easily check out.

Did I mention that you can earn and use your ExtraCare Rewards on in-app purchases? This versatile app has saved me a significant amount of time, money, and stress.

After placing your order, all you need to do is wait for a text notification indicating your order is ready. I often run errands at other stores while waiting, and my CVS order is generally prepared by the time I’m ready to head back home. When I arrive at the store, I look for the designated “Curbside” parking area or a convenient spot near the entrance and park. There’s no need to exit the vehicle (yes! let those sleeping toddlers stay asleep!)—simply reply with “here” to the text confirming your order is ready while keeping the CVS app open, and within a few moments, your order will be delivered to your car.

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season often have us pulled in every direction, making it difficult to keep up with our shopping. This app has truly been a lifesaver, ensuring our family remains stocked with essential household items. No more unexpected, “Mom! We’re out of toilet paper!” crises.
