Children’s Perspectives on Solving Child Hunger | #EndingHungerTogether
Today’s discussion is sponsored by Conagra. All views expressed are my own.

My kids have been fortunate to enjoy a life of comforts. They’ve never experienced hunger, so when I discussed the issue of Child Hunger with them, it was an eye-opening moment.

Children brainstorming ideas for ending hunger

After informing them that approximately 1 in 5 children in the United States, translating to around 16 million kids, lack adequate nutrition, we began exploring ways we could contribute as a family.

Both of my kids immediately proposed that we purchase food to share. The challenge was deciding which items to choose.

After bouncing around a few ideas and guiding them away from sweets like Peeps and jelly beans, they settled on peanut butter as a delicious and nutritious option. Not only do they enjoy it in sandwiches, but they also love dipping apples and pretzels in it for snacks, so they felt confident that other kids would appreciate it too.

Kids filling a cart with food to donate

For over two decades, ConAgra Foods and its Foundation have actively engaged in the fight against child hunger in America by donating food and collaborating on effective solutions. With their guidance, I channeled my children’s enthusiasm, creativity, and altruism towards addressing this critical issue within our community.

Mom and kids shopping for a cause

My children eagerly loaded our cart, discussing how another child could enjoy the food at lunchtime, dinnertime, or even as a snack.

The initiative by ConAgra Foods and its Foundation revolves around empowering the youth to make a difference in their neighborhoods across the United States.

Children inspired to help fight hunger

Ending hunger among children isn’t a solitary mission! Every little action counts and leads to significant change.

Every contribution matters

One straightforward method of involvement is to search for the red pushpin on specially marked ConAgra Foods products. By entering the 8-digit codes found on those items at www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com during March-August 2015, ConAgra Foods will contribute the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America, with a goal to provide up to 3 million meals.

What a great thing to teach children. I love that they put so much thought into it. I will have to remember to look for the food with the pushpins on it when I am shopping.
