Weeks have passed since my little ones headed back to school, and during that time, I focused on my oldest son. His college started later than most, which allowed us some breathing room to ensure he had all the necessary items for his new living environment. We ventured to Kohl’s to explore their Dormward Bound section.

Knowing his roommate helped, as we could share certain essentials like a futon and television. However, there were additional items that my son wanted and needed to make his space more inviting.

The Dormward Bound section offered everything one could possibly consider necessary for a dorm room: from futons and butterfly chairs to printers, televisions, Rokus, sound bars, speakers, wall decorations, video games, and much more.

While browsing, my son expressed doubts about how he would prepare his protein shakes after workouts. Luckily, Kohl’s had the perfect solution for that!

Even though we thought we had everything covered, Kohl’s had some unexpected essentials that proved valuable during our shopping trip!

This included coffee for the Keurig we passed down to him, a Magic Bullet for mixing his post-workout shakes, and a printer with additional cartridges to complete our shopping list.

Despite the limited space, he now has everything he might need close at hand. While I may have shed a few tears, I find comfort knowing that we were able to procure all he needed to feel settled in his dorm.

How I wish Kohl’s had existed 50 years ago when I embarked on my college journey; microwave, computer, printer, Keurig—none of these were even invented back then.
