After a week of dealing with the remnants of a head cold, my husband and I discovered that a steamy shower can really help clear our sinuses. With these menthol-infused shower bombs, you’ll enjoy an enhanced aromatic experience. Plus, they smell wonderful!

Ingredients Required
1/2 cup of Baking Soda
1 cup of cornstarch
5 tablespoons of Vicks (using baby Vicks can provide a milder fragrance)
Add a teaspoon of water as necessary (I used 3 teaspoons).
Mold tray (ice cube or chocolate molds work well)
  1. Begin by placing cornstarch in a mixing bowl (consider adding a bit of glitter for a fun touch).
  2. Mix in your Vicks thoroughly; be aware that it has a potent aroma, so you may want to wear gloves if you’re sensitive or ensure the area is well-ventilated. Be cautious not to add too much Vicks, as it may affect the melting properties.
  3. Add the baking soda and mix until well combined. If you think it needs more moisture, add a teaspoon of water at a time, but be careful not to overdo it, or the mixture will not hold together properly.
  4. Mold the blended mixture into your chosen tray (I used chocolate molds, but feel free to get creative with shapes and designs).
  5. Freeze the molds for several hours.
  6. Once frozen, remove the disks from the molds. They can be stored in small jars or given as thoughtful gifts.
To use:
Simply place one disk on the shower floor near the drain, and let the steam work its magic to help clear your sinuses!

Ingredients
  • ½ cup of Baking Soda
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • 5 tablespoons of Vicks (baby Vicks can be used for a milder scent)
  • Add a teaspoon of water as necessary (I used 3)
  • Mold tray (ice cube or chocolate molds)
Instructions
  1. Start by placing the cornstarch in a bowl (you may add a bit of glitter for a decorative touch).
  2. Mix in your Vicks thoroughly. Given its strong scent, consider using gloves and ensuring the area is ventilated. Watch how much Vicks you use—it can impact how the disks melt.
  3. Add the baking soda and combine well. If needed, add water gradually in teaspoons to achieve the right consistency.
  4. Transfer the mixture to your mold tray (I used chocolate molds, but feel free to get creative).
  5. Freeze the molds for a few hours.
  6. Remove the disks from the molds. Store them in small jars, or share them as gifts.
  7. To enjoy:
  8. Place one in the shower near the drain and allow the steam to fill the space, helping to clear your head!

Enjoy your creation!
