Spiderweb Pizza Snacks Recipe

My children are always famished when they return from school. With October approaching, I thought it would be a delightful idea to share a fun after-school treat we often prepare together.

This treat can also be scaled up to make a complete pizza adorned with multiple spiders.

They absolutely enjoy creating these and they make for a hilariously spooky snack!

INGREDIENTS
Pizza Sauce
Round Crackers, Sandwich Slim Buns, and/or Pita Breads
String Mozzarella Cheese
Black Olives

DIRECTIONS

Begin by preheating the oven to 375 degrees.
If you decide to use slim buns, split them in half.
Spread pizza sauce on your chosen base (crackers, buns, or pitas).
Take the string cheese, unwrap it, and pull it into strings.
Arrange four of the strings across the base to create pizza-style slices.
Chop additional pieces of string cheese to cover each “slice” of pizza.
To craft a spider, trim the ends off of two olives, making one slightly larger than the other; these will serve as the spider’s head and body.
Slice the smaller olive and then cut those slices in half to form legs; while I made four legs, feel free to add more for a full spider look.
Position the spider on each mini pizza.
Transfer to a cookie sheet and bake until the cheese has melted, which should take around 10 minutes.
If desired, you can create eyes on the spider by dipping a toothpick into mustard and touching it to the head.

And there you have it! An amusingly creepy treat – spiderweb pizza snacks!

They’re fantastic for after-school munching or as finger food for a Halloween gathering.
