DIY | Magnet Reindeer from Bottle Caps

Bottlecap Reindeer

I’m on the lookout for charming and straightforward crafts to create with the little ones. This adorable reindeer magnet made from bottle caps is an ideal project for older children to make, share, or give as gifts during the holiday season. You can create one or multiple to depict Santa’s entire reindeer team.

Materials Needed:

1 bottle cap per magnet
black and white paint
paintbrush
2 brown pipe cleaners
2 powerful magnets that can fit inside a bottle cap
Red pompoms
hot glue gun
brown or gray paint

Supplies for Reindeer Magnet

Begin by painting the outer surfaces of the bottle caps with your chosen brown or gray paint for the reindeer. Allow this to dry before proceeding to the next steps.

Using white paint, create small circles on the caps where you’d like the eyes to appear. After they dry briefly, add a small black dot in the center of each white circle. Then, add a touch of white paint to the center of the black dot to complete the eyes.

Creating Antlers
Next, take a pipe cleaner and cut it in half. Bend it to form antlers, twist them together, and set aside.

Attaching Antlers

Use your hot glue gun to attach the longer part of the antlers inside the bottle cap on the side opposite the face.

Adding the Nose

Now, grab your red pompom for the nose and place a dot of hot glue where you intend to attach it. Hold it down for a moment to secure it in place.

Finally, take your magnet and hot glue it inside the bottle cap, pressing firmly to ensure it sticks. After the glue has dried, your reindeer magnet will be ready to use or to gift.
